Life and gravity

Life feels a lot like gravity at times - pulling, heated, intense. It can make you feel powerless or helpless. It's a prime example of how limited we are in the flesh as beings.  These gravity-like circumstances are created to remind us we have to live in the spirit in order to press pass the pressures, temptations and weights of life.

Flesh always pulls us in one direction by nature.  It is naturally inclined to do the exact opposite of what God's will is for our lives.  It pulls us away from what is right, just, and true.  On our own might and with the little common sense and will we have, we are able to make decisions that are right.  But in our flesh dwells no good thing and we are naturally inclined to mess up.

If ever I come across someone who doesn't quite understand the truth that is the Holy Spirit, this is how I can best explain why we need him to make it through life.  In our flesh we can only go so far, do so much right before we do wrong, or say so much good before we say the wrong thing.  The Holy Spirit is a necessary ingredient to a successful life in Christ.  Without it, we are simply being pulled with gravity.

Today, be glad for the gift of the Holy Spirit and let him be the Comforter he was created to be in your life.
