I have all of 15 minutes to write this blog so I'll try to squeeze my thoughts in quickly. Lately, after being confronted with a couple breaches in my personality from my peers, I began saying to myself "I'm not perfect. I'll never be perfect." Sometimes I feel as though people tend to want your every move to be perfect (according to their standards) and they themselves seem to fall short of even what they require from you. But on the flip side, saying "I'm not perfect" is sometimes an excuse to not want to change, because change is hard.
Well, I've often heard people say in speeches and other dialogue that "nobody's perfect" and give the "false hope" that you don't have to try to be perfect because you'll never be perfect. I found comfort in this. But to my surprise, I stumbled across a passage of scripture that changed my mind concerning this, as a Christian believer.
I am now of the understanding that the idea that perfection is not possible is false, biblically. Depends on whose standards you choose to base your life on. Since this is a Christian publication, I am upholding biblical standards. Perfection is never impossible. That's the whole purpose of Jesus' death. Ultimately, the end result, the defining moment for us as believers of Christ is to become perfect (holy, unblameable, & unreproveable in His sight). And if God can find no blame in us, surely no man can. While I may not be perfect right now, everyday that is what I am striving for.
What do you think? In your opinion, is it possible to reach the state of perfection?

I know that perfection is possible. I used to believe it wasn't achievable but now I think it is because Jesus died for our sins.
Faith,
I believe that we can come to perfection. However, the only way that can happen is through His spirit living and abiding in us. I don't care what you try to do, flesh can never be perfected. I do believe that we can come to a place of having a perfected spirit. We have to realize that it's not US that makes up that perfection. It is Him living IN us and us agreeing with our will for Him to work the will and to do down inside of us. It's all tied into presenting our bodies a living sacrifice. Those are my thoughts! Great topic!
