We celebrated my co-workers bday this past Friday. She's a very fabulous forty! I told her I hope I look as good as her when I reach forty. (Probably so because my mom looks great!) Her husband surprised her by coming up to the college office with a dozen red roses and broght their
beautiful 4-year old baby girl. My co-worker was so surprised. I was so heart-warmed by that. It was real sweet. I enjoy the single life a great deal, but moments like those make me look forward to marriage. I'm sitting there in the conference room (the significant youngest of the bunch) and they're all talking about their wonderful husbands and children. They're all going around the room, and then it's my turn. "So do you have any kids? Are you married Faith?" "Uhhh, no, but I have 6 nieces and nephews and they are a handful of fun." It's true, but the
older I get the more I desire to have children. Perhaps it's natural or I'm just crazy; I don't know. But I was encouraged by her testimony. She said she had dated in her 20's and just didn't see herself marrying any of the guys in her life at that time. Then she met him and married him at age 27. While all her friends were messing around and having babies out of wedlock, she decided that she would wait 'till the right one came along. And he did eventually. She had her first child at thirty with him and the other at 36. She will be 48 when her first child graduates HS, but they help keep her young. I was so happy to hear that because I told myself I would not have kids after 30 because I thought that was way too old. But I'm a little more open to the thought now. Right now though, I'm enjoying the view from way back here as long as I can. :) I stayed out a lot of trouble growing up because I watched my older siblings and learned from seeing the consequences from their actions (which was many whipens from mom & dad LOL). I plan to use the same concept when I get married. Prayerfully, it will work like it saved me from getting whipens. :)
