A friend of mine asked me today how come I haven't blogged lately. It's been a combination of being too busy and then when I'm not busy, a dry spell. Sometimes I need to get out the house and see something new and exciting in order to get a motivation to write when I get in a dry spell.
Tonight I went to bike night in the "Oak." It was pretty cool. But I went by myself which was less fun, and still, I'm not motivated. But I do find this observation kind of funny. Sure enough a nice majority of people who ride bikes (cycles), are cool, edgy people. But another large portion of bike riders are really rather lame and geeky. It's true! Take away the bike, the leather riding jacket and catch 'em on a Monday at work...they are the guys who get to work early and stay late. They are the guys who bring their lunch to work and don't know how to ask a lady out on a date. I'm serious! This one guy on his bike was trying to holler at me and he literally did not know what to say. So finally, after stuttering for 30 seconds, he just said "Wanna go for a ride some time?" It was funny, but cute. However, I'm sure everybody on a bike probably says that, which makes it not so cool to say anymore. But back to my point...
It's funny how we try to hide behind things to get people to think we're something we're really not. But hey, I ain't mad at 'em! I can relate a little. While I am a huge Mustang fan and I've always wanted one, one may think that I live a very edgy, fierce, and fast-paced life. Especially if you catch me on a good day when I'm doing 95 mph and passing cars left & right. Aside from my busy traveling schedule, only about 15% of me is edgy, fierce, and fast-paced. The 15% of me likes to take risks. The other 85% of me is very laid-back, calm, cautious, and somewhat slow. For example, I'm not much of a night person and I'll fall asleep after even taking an aspirin (I'm exaggerating a bit). But I realize the reason why people spend money trying to indulge in their 15%. Because we spend enough time wallowing in our 85%. So any opportunity we embark upon to enjoy the other 15% is our time to shine! So in light of this I say...Rock on bikers!
Sidebar: Has anyone ever seen the old movie "Christine"? It's about a geek boy who buys an old beat-up car and it transforms into a nicer car and everybody thinks he's cool now, but the car starts killing people??? Good movie. You should go rent it this weekend. It's an 80's horror film. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8sldovtxsM

There was a very important book written about the "masks" that people wear for all different reasons, you should explore. It might make an interesting series "Oh, woman of GOD." I love you dude, keep the insights coming...
Faith that's pretty funny. I worked with a handfull of those guys everyday and they were faithful to biking.. and you are right... they got to work around 6:30-7am and left around 7pm everyday and called you a slacker if you didn't do the same... What a life huh... I'm so glad i'm on break from corporate and a college student all over again... now I chillin with the geeky guys that haven't caught on to biking yet... they at least got enough courage to ask you out to eat.. they even got enough courage to track your number and call... (their pick up line though is can we meet to study though... and u know how that goes...) LOL
Don't you fear though.. soon enough those corporate guys will be lurking after them to initiate them to the biking gig and that's all she wrote.. BORING!!! LOL... see ya later. ~cg
"Can we meet to study?" OMG that is SO lame! Haha!
