Update on Project C

Some of you have been wondering what the current updates are to "Project C."  LOL  Here's the reason why I'm laughing...

I'm so glad that I chose to track my progress to you all  on my blog because you guys really help keep me on my toes!  I love it!  Sometimes, I admit, I get a bit overwhelmed with it all and need to take a breather before I blow a fuse trying to put this all together.  Somehow, the Lord always uses someone as a nudge to say, "OK, your break is over...get moving!"

So here's where I am!  I've recently ran into another helpful soul who was so interested in the idea that he started drawing my logo without me even asking.  And not only that, but he has knowledge of the magazine business and providing some very helpful tips and advice to help me.  I'm amazed, humbled, and grateful that God continues to place people in my life who can help me bring my ideas to life, since I'm always the one trying to help people do that with their ideas.

Also, one of the hardest things, in my opinion, was trying to connect with able-bodied freelance writers who would be passionate enough about the purpose of this magazine, enough to want to write great stories for it.  So, I'm researching some avenues for Christian writers and so far I've found a decent treasure of them.  My research is far from done, but I do have a great start and we'll go from there.

One thing I am looking forward to is this.  With my recent acceptance into graduate school in January of 2011, I'm sure that I will have to do some grand marketing project as an assignment.  I figure, this will be the perfect opportunity to use my magazine for the assignment, and use those same concepts and strategies to implement and bring into existence.  That way, I'm killing two birds with one stone:  finishing grad school and launching my magazine.  That's the plan, and I'm sticking to it.  As overwhelming as it is...it will happen!  The dream will unfold.  Continue on the journey with me...
