The fact is we're going to make mistakes. That's life. Even the most elect of us do. But the bigger mistake is to allow that mistake to divert you from your true purpose and goal. The key is: keep moving! This time, move with the wisdom you didn't have before and make better choices. And if you find yourself continuing to make the same mistake over and over again, take some time to seek the Lord, setting things aside, and finding out what the root of the problem is. I'm sure it's His desire for you to know, so you can grow. Take the initiative! Show God you're interested in getting to know where your errors are coming from and how you can move out of them. What I love about God is he is a reasonable God. He loves to reason with us. He loves when we show interest in Him and His righteousness, instead of seeking our own; which is probably what got us in trouble in the first place.
Making mistakes is a part of life. Acknowledge it. Learn from it. Grow from it. And don't make the bigger mistake of not being able to forgive yourself and move on.
Sin, It's Reality, & Its Remedy:
1 John 1:8-10 "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."
